TK CHAN

TK Chan (b. 1984) is a self-taught artist from Hong Kong known for her unique blend of Western and Chinese artistic traditions. Her work primarily features contemporary Chinese ink-wash painting on Xuan paper, with a minimalist style. Chan specializes in Chinese watercolor paintings of animals, particularly the zodiac signs. Her passion for art began early, leading her to master both Chinese ink and oil painting through self-study. While studying in Scotland, she was inspired by the landscapes, which she later captured in her ‘Scottish Landscape’ series, showcasing landmarks like Edinburgh Castle and the Scottish countryside.

Chan's art beautifully fuses cultures and mediums, seamlessly blending traditional Chinese ink techniques with Western oil painting. Her works are held in esteemed institutions such as Po Leung Kuk and Kingston Financial Group in Hong Kong. Additionally, she has received commissions from Shanghai’s 食好點 restaurant group, and her products are available at the PandaQ gift store in Shanghai Airport. Notably, her artworks have been auctioned, with significant sales occurring in 2022.

Academically, Chan holds an MA in Curating and Art History from Lingnan University, and both an MDes and BDes from Edinburgh Napier University. She is the co-founder and curator of BLINK Gallery in Hong Kong and a member of several artistic societies. Her work has been exhibited globally in cities including Hong Kong, Shanghai, Singapore, and London.
